Local entrepreneurs will have the chance to participate in Operation JumpStart, an award-winning microenterprise development program, starting on May 17 at Hopkinsville Community College (HCC).
Operation JumpStart is a hands-on, 36-hour training program designed to help aspiring and existing entrepreneurs determine the feasibility of their business ideas while building essential business planning and preparation skills. Class topics include business concept development; market research and analysis; and pricing and financial projections. All classes are taught by certified instructors.
"We are so happy to be able to allow students to enroll in this first class at a special introductory registration fee of $99," according to HCC Training Specialist Lea Martin. "The regular fee is $299 per person, but we can offer this reduced price due to a generous grant which was awarded to Murray State University Regional Business and Innovation Center."
HCC's first section of the program will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, May 17-June 25. There will be no class on Memorial Day and that class meeting will be made up on May 29. Students who successfully complete Operation JumpStart will participate in a graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. on June 28.
